Osteopathy, Rehab, Strength & Conditioning

Helping people move through pain, empowering patients and helping people return back to their previous performance.

Our Approach

At Cairns Osteo & Rehab, we have a modern evidence informed, patient centred approach to health care.

We use a combination of Osteopathic techniques (soft tissue, articulation, manipulation), education about your injury and pain, injury rehabilitation, and strength & conditioning

Rehabilitative Strength & Conditioning

Struggling to do things you used to do? At Cairns Osteo & Rehab our passion is getting people back doing the things that they love.

This will often involve a combination of hands on treatment and an integrated rehabilitation and strength and conditioning program, which can be done at home or in a gym, depending on your personal goals.

About Me

  • Joe Rutherford

    Osteopath

    BClinSc & MHSc

    ASCA LVL 1

  • Joe graduated fromVictoria University, completing a BClinSc and MHSc (Osteopathy), and I am registered with the Australian Health Practioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).

Joe was originally drawn to Osteopathy through a passion for powerlifting and fascination with the biomechanics of the human body. Joe now finds his passion for osteopathy comes from helping people achieve and exceed their personal goals.

Joe’s treatment style involves a tailored management plan, with emphasis on education, enabling patients to feel empowered and help understand their condition, and assist them to self-manage through the rehabilitation phase and get back to previous performance.

  • Joe likes to utilise a functional/structural approach to osteopathy, which involves movement screening, a variety of manual therapy techniques, including high velocity manipulation, joint articulation/mobilisation and exercise prescription.

When Joe’s not working, you might catch me in the gym, enjoying a local craft beer, fishing (not catching), and camping with our am staff x Eddie.
